Installation & Site Work

Plan an installation visit

2 min read Updated 2026-08-21 WindoorERP 19.0

What this does

Plans the visit: who goes, when, what they take, and what they are expected to complete — so a crew does not arrive to find the units still in the factory.

Steps

  1. 01
Open the project and its Work Packages.
  2. 02
Check the units for this package are produced and delivered.
  3. 03
Assign the crew and set the date.
  4. 04
List the Installation Items the visit covers, so progress is recorded per unit rather than per day.
  5. 05
Confirm site access with the customer — gate passes, working hours, lift booking.
  6. 06
Release the visit to the crew.

Tracking the work

Each item moves through its own actions, and the board shows the package as To Do, Under Progress and Done. That per-item view is what lets a supervisor answer "what is left?" without a site visit.

Warning

Sending a crew before the units are physically on site is the most expensive mistake in this process. Check the delivery, not the production status — "produced" is not "delivered".

Common mistakes

  • Planning by day instead of by item, so partial completion has nowhere to be recorded.
  • Booking a visit without confirming site access, and paying a crew to wait at a gate.
  • Leaving snags in someone's head instead of on the item.
